Ankley Named SAAC Hornet of the Week

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Sam Ankley of the Kalamazoo College swimming and diving team was selected as this week's SAAC Hornet of the Week. 

Ankley was also selected to the All-MIAA team and named Co-Most Valuable Diver for his performance at the MIAA Championships. He took second place in the 1-meter diving event, earning a score of 461.40. He also finished second in the 3-meter dive with a score of 486.80. Ankley had the highest combined diving score through 22 dives on both boards. 

A sophomore from Kalamazoo, Mich. (Kalamazoo Central), Ankley holds the Hornets' top scores from this season's diving events. He won both the 1-meter and 3-meter events at Olivet on February 6 and had the top score in the 1-meter dive at the Hope/Alma meet on Feb. 12. 

This marks the fifth time that the sophomore has been named Hornet of the Week.
