Sam Ankley Comes in 21st at the NCAA DIII Diving Central Regional

Sam Ankley of the Kalamazoo College men's swimming & diving team completed the NCAA DIII Diving Central Regional on Saturday (Feb. 25) and finished in 21st place.

Friday, Feb. 24

Day one of the competition was the 1-meter for the men and Ankley finished 20th out of 33 divers. However, he ended up with a score of 389.70, which was the second-best among MIAA divers. Albion's Justin Huttenlocher finished 17th with 402.25 points.

Saturday, Feb. 25

In the 3-meter on day two, Ankley returned with an 18th-place finish after scoring 406.15 points. Two divers from the MIAA finished ahead of Ankley, with Ewan Tiongson of Hope finishing 15th with 419.10 points and Huttenlocher of Albion coming in 17th at 410.95 points.

Overall, Ankley came away with a 21st-place finish with 795.85 points.
