Men's Tennis wins seven flights at Hope Invitational

HOLLAND, Mich. - Kalamazoo College men's tennis players won seven of the eight flights at the Hope Invitational held Friday and Saturday. The five-team tournament included Albion, Hope, Calvin and Division II Grand Valley.

Branden Metzler won the "A" flight singles championship with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Nicholas Urban of Grand Valley.

Eric De Witt won the "B" flight with a 2-6, 6-1, 10-5 win over Hornet teammate Allen Vinson.

Noah Karoub won the "C" flight over Drew Coleman of Grand Valley, 6-1, retired.

Daniel Henry defeated Marcus Muniz Infante (Grand Valley) 3-6, 6-1, 10-8 in the "D" flight championship.

Alberto Ayala defeated teammate Kyle Hahn 6-3, 6-2 in the "E" flight championship.

In doubles, Metzler and Elan Dantus won the "A" championship 8-4 over Coleman/Urban of Grand Valley.

Ayala and Jacob Scott won the "C" doubles championship with an 8-5 win over Jared Dozema/Charlie Fahr of Calvin.

Kalamazoo hosts the ITA Central Regionals Sept. 23-25.
