Men's Tennis player, coaches earn ITA Regional Honors

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Kalamazoo College men's tennis program took home three of the seven awards handed out to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's Division III Central Region on Thursday.

Metzler was named Kalamazoo's fifth central region senior player of the year after posting a record of 24-1 so far this season and being named MIAA MVP for the fourth consecutive year. Metzler is one of 32 players who will compete for a national championship May 25-27 in Chattanooga, Tenn.

ITA Central Region Assistant Coach of the Year
Mark Denenfeld

Riley and Denenfeld teamed up to lead Kalamazoo to an 18-2 record overall and the team's 79th consecutive MIAA championship. This is Riley's first central region coach of the year honor and the College's fifth overall. Denenfeld is Kalamazoo's first central region assistant coach of the year.
