Men's Tennis finishes season ranked No. 26

The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team finished the 2017 season ranked No. 26 in the nation and No. 6 in the Central Region according to the final Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings released this month. Kalamazoo climbed 10 spots in the national poll after finishing No. 36 at the end of 2016.

In addition to the team rankings, Branden Metzler finished the year ranked No. 4 in the nation in singles and No. 1 in the region. He advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA III Singles Championships in May and finished the year with a 27-2 record in singles.

Branden Metzler and Elan Dantus ended the year ranked No. 8 in the region in doubles after compiling a record of 21-4.

The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team went 18-2 this year while capturing its 79th consecutive MIAA championship with a 7-0 league record. The Hornets lost 5-3 in the second round of the NCAA III Championships after losing just one match during the regular season.
