TEMPE, Ariz. – The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team and 11 individuals earned academic honors through the Intercollegiate Tennis Association this week.
The Hornets earned ITA All-Academic Team honors by achieving a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or higher.
Eleven individuals earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors by meeting the criteria of being a varsity letter winner, having a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and having been enrolled at their current institution for at least two semesters. The Hornets earning this distinction were: Alberto Ayala, Alex Cadigan, Elan Dantus, Eric De Witt, Guillermo Dominguez, Daniel Henry, Branden Metzler, Skyler Norgaard, Zack Ray, Jacob Scott and Allen Vinson.
The men's tennis team also recently earned the MIAA Team GPA Award.
The Hornets finished the season 18-2 overall and ranked 26th in the nation. The Hornets won the MIAA with a 7-0 league record and advanced to their 42nd consecutive NCAA III Tournament.
