Men's Tennis edged 5-4 by UT-Tyler

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Kalamazoo College men's tennis team lost 5-4 to University of Texas at Tyler in a match played at Trinity University Thursday.

The UT-Tyler Patriots entered the match ranked No. 30 in the nation, one spot ahead of the No. 31 Hornets.

UT-Tyler led 2-1 after doubles with Allen Vinson and Ricardo DelOlmo-Parrado teaming up for an 8-3 win at two for the Hornets.

Kalamazoo proceeded to take a 4-2 lead with three straight singles wins in straight sets. Unfortunately for the Hornets, UT-Tyler won the final three singles matches, each of which went to three sets.

DelOlmo-Parrado was first off the courts with a 6-0, 6-4 win at five. Tytus Metzler followed with a 6-1, 6-2 win at one before Daniel Henry won 7-6(7), 6-4 at two.

Kalamazoo returns to action Friday with a match at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.
