Kalamazoo College's Alex Cadigan was selected as the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association's Men's Tennis Player of the Week on Monday.
A senior from Ann Arbor, Mich. (Huron HS), Cadigan and his teammate Henry Fuchs won the "B" Doubles draw at the Hope Invitational held in Holland over the weekend.
After drawing a bye in their first match, Cadigan and Fuchs defeated doubles pairs from Calvin and Grand Valley in the quarterfinals and semifinals.
Cadigan led the duo to a victory in the championship over Muniz and Zwemer from Grand Valley.
This is Cadigan's first MIAA Player of the Week honor. He has been recognized by the MIAA as a member of the Academic Honor Roll in each of his first three seasons.
The Hornets are scheduled to complete their fall season at the ITA Central Regional in St. Louis, Mo. on September 28-30.
