Henry Named MIAA Player of the Week

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Daniel Henry of the Kalamazoo College men's tennis team was named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. 

Henry, a senior from Kalamazoo, Mich. (Kalamazoo Central HS), won in straight sets at No. 2 singles against his Calvin opponent on Wednesday. With Ian Yi at No. 1 doubles, the pair defeated Calvin's Max Stallings and Daniel Huan 8-3. The Hornets went on to defeat the Knights 9-0 and pick up their first win in conference play.

Henry now holds a 2-0 record in No. 2 singles on the season and is a perfect 2-0 at No. 1 doubles. He holds career records of 60-20 overall and a perfect 21-0 in MIAA singles play. This is Henry's eighth time being named MIAA Player of the Week. The senior will hope to continue his three-year streak of being named to the All-MIAA First Team at the conclusion of the season. 

Kalamazoo (3-0, 1-0 MIAA) is scheduled to be back in action on Friday, April 9 at Alma.
