Yi Advances to Round of 16 at NCAA III Singles Championships

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Ian Yi's 2021 season came to an end at the NCAA III Singles Championships on Friday.

Yi won his first match Friday 6-1, 6-0 over Jorge Figueroa (Averett) in the Round of 32. Yi trailed fifth-seeded Boris Sorkin (Tufts) 6-3, 3-0 before retiring in the Round of 16.

The junior from Ann Arbor was selected to the 32-player field after earning All-MIAA First Team honors this spring. Yi's season ends with an 8-3 overall record.
