Yi Selected to Compete in NCAA III Singles Championships

Kalamazoo College's Ian Yi was selected as one of 32 participants to compete in the 2022 NCAA III Singles Championships. 

The singles and doubles championships are scheduled for May 27-29 at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla. This follows the team championships scheduled for May 23-25 at the same location.

Yi holds a record of 13-9 in singles this season and a 45-21 career record. He earned MIAA MVP honors and was named All-MIAA First Team. He was MIAA Player of the Week on October 4 and April 18.

Yi advanced to the Round of 16 at the 2021 singles championships in Chattanooga, Tenn., earning All-American honors in singles. He also competed in the 2019 singles championships in Kalamazoo. The 2020 tournament was canceled due to COVID.

The draw for the individual championship will be done by the men's tennis committee and will be released on May 25 not before 5 p.m. Eastern time.
