Yi Reaches Second Round of NCAA III Championships

ORLANDO, Fla. - Ian Yi advanced to the Round of 16 (Second Round) of the NCAA III Singles Championships on Friday, earning the senior a third All-American honor.

Yi won his first round match 6-2, 6-2 over Indraneel Raut (Gustavus Adolphus) Friday morning.

Yi was trailing 3-1 to Tim Cianciola (Denison) in the second round before retiring due to injury.

This was Yi's second consecutive year advancing to the second round of the 32-player national tournament. The senior from Ann Arbor, Mich. (Pioneer) earned All-American honors in singles all three years they were awarded.

Yi also earned All-MIAA First Team honors all three years and was a two-time MIAA MVP.
