GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College men's cross country team finished 15th at the Calvin Knight Invitational on Saturday.

Jordan Henning finished eighth overall at the event and sixth in scoring with a time of 25:50.

"Jordan was just a vision to behold out there," said first year head coach Kristopher Koster. "We talked earlier in the week about trying to break 26:00 for the first time, but that was before we saw how soggy the course was. Given the conditions, he may have executed the most intelligent race of anyone in the field this morning."

The team as a whole finished 69.6 places higher per individual than they did last year at this event.

"Since camp began last week, we've really tried to emphasize running in packs," Koster said. "With four of our ten guys out due to injury or illness today, though, I wasn't sure how the remaining six would be able to pull that off, but they really made a valiant effort to work together."

Kalamazoo returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 27 when the Hornets host the MIAA Jamboree at Eastern Hills Country Club.
