Men's Cross Country 23rd at Calvin Knight Invite

Jordan Henning running.

The Kalamazoo College men's cross country team finished 23rd at the Calvin Knight Invite on Saturday, Sept. 12.

Jordan Henning led the Hornets in 30th place overall with a time of 26:02 in the 8K event.

"We toed the line a bit short-handed today, but the guys who did run competed with some toughness and ran aggressively," Kalamazoo Head Coach Kristopher Koster said. "Each of them should learn a lot from this race--they all got a little carried away with the excitement of the first meet of the year and the fast field around them and went out too hard the first mile or so.

"We'll get a little wiser and fitter and, I hope, a lot healthier as a team by the first MIAA meet in two weeks, and I know we'll be a lot stronger as a result."

Kalamazoo's next event is the MIAA Jamboree on Sept. 26 at West Ottawa Golf Club in Holland.

Coach's Notes

-Spencer Kennedy ran 51 seconds faster than his previous fastest season debut in college. It was the fifth-fastest time of his career.

-Andrew Feeley ran 1:22 faster than his previous fastest season debut. It was the fourth-fastest time of his career.
