Softball wins Friday opener over Becker

LEESBURG, Fla. - The Kalamazoo College softball team won its first game on Friday 5-0 over Becker College. 

Kalamazoo scored a run in the third, three in the fifth and another in the seventh while allowing just one Becker runner to reach third base.

Erin DuRoss went 3-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. Anna Majewski was 2-for-3 with a pair of singles.

Nori Seita was impressive on the mound and at the plate going 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Seita also earned the win allowing just four hits while striking out three and walking two.

Kalamazoo faced Anderson University Friday afternoon and was defeated 4-2.

Anderson scored four runs in the top of the third and held Kalamazoo to a single run in the fourth and fifth innings. Kalamazoo outhit Anderson 7-5, but left four runners on base in the loss.

Erin DuRoss was 2-for-3 with an RBI while Ashley Schiffer had a hit and the other RBI. Isabella Kirck also had two hits in the game.

The Hornets return to action Saturday morning with games against Lawrence and Plattsburgh State.
