Softball drops doubleheader at Olivet

OLIVET, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College softball team came up a little short in a pair of games at Olivet on Friday, falling 3-1 and 3-2.

The host Comets scored a run in the bottom of the first in the opener, but Kalamazoo evened the score in the top of the second when Hayleigh Alamo drove in Nori Seita from second.

Olivet pulled ahead again with a pair of runs in the fifth while keeping the Hornets scoreless the rest of the way.

Kalamazoo had eight hits in the game but left five runners on base. Nori Seita finished 2-for-3 with a double.

Olivet scored three runs in the first inning in game two and held Kalamazoo scoreless until the sixth inning when the Hornets pushed two runs across. Kalamazoo put two runners on in the bottom of the seventh, but could not score to tie or win the game. 

Kalamazoo had four hits in the game highlighted by a triple by Andrea MacMichael.

Kalamazoo hosts Calvin in a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
