KALAMAZOO, Mich. – As voted on by the league coaches and in a release from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Tuesday afternoon, Erin DuRoss was named to the All-MIAA Second Team for her play on the softball diamond this spring for the Hornets.

A senior from Onsted, Mich., DuRoss became the Hornets' winningest pitcher in program history tying Emery Engers with 23 career wins when she defeated Calvin on April 22. On the rubber in 2017 alone, DuRoss recorded eight wins in 13 complete games while finishing with a 2.77 ERA. She struck out 89 batters in 118.2 innings of work.

At the plate, DuRoss was equally if not more impressive, batting .375, the ninth-best batting average in the MIAA. She drove in 25 runs with two home runs and eight doubles and finished in the top 15 of nearly all major offensive categories in the MIAA.

She recorded three-hit games five different times during the 2017 season.

This is the second time in DuRoss's career she's been placed on an All-MIAA team. She was named to the All-MIAA First Team after the conclusion of the 2016 season.
