Softball falls to Chicago

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College softball team lost both games of a doubleheader to University of Chicago Friday. The visiting Maroons won the opener 5-0 before winning the second game 5-1 in eight innings.

Game One

Chicago scored two runs in the second, two in the fourth and one in the seventh while limiting Kalamazoo to zero runs on four hits. 

Ashley Schiffer had two of Kalamazoo's hits in the game both of which were doubles.

Game Two

Chicago led off the game with a home run, but Kalamazoo evened the score with a run in the third. The score was still tied 1-1 after seven innings before Chicago put up four runs in the top of the eighth. Kalamazoo was held scoreless in the final frame.

Anna Majewski was 3-for-4 while driving in Kalamazoo's only run.

Ashley Schiffer had two hits while Sammi Luzadre and Briana Huisken each had a double.

Kalamazoo plays its final home games Saturday against Saint Mary's beginning at 1 p.m.
