Women's Basketball falls 96-54 to No. 2 Hope

KALAMAZOO - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team lost 96-54 to No. 2 Hope College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play on Wednesday.

Hope led 62-27 at halftime behind 11-of-12 3-pointers (91.7 percent). The Flying Dutch outscored Kalamazoo 34-27 in the second half.

Hope shot 47.2 percent overall for the game while sinking 15-of-22 3's (68.2 percent). Hope also made 13-of-14 free throws.

Kalamazoo shot 35.6 percent overall while hitting 3-of-13 3's (23.1 percent) and 19-of-31 free throws.

Hope outrebounded Kalamazoo 44-30, including 16-8 on the offensive end resulting in a 20-7 advantage in second chance points.

India Hoskins led Kalamazoo with 13 points, five rebounds and four steals.

Morgan Overstreet scored 11 points, while Nicole Antoine and Grace Smith both finished with six.

Kalamazoo travels to Saint Mary's College on Saturday, Feb. 8. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m.
