KALAMAZOO, MI - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team defeated Olivet 67-60 on Wednesday night. The win moves the women to 11-7 overall and 6-4 in the MIAA. They now are tied for third place in the MIAA with Trine as Olivet drops down into fourth place.

The game didn't start out great for Kalamazoo with Olivet jumping out to an 8-2 lead. Perri Nicholson then turned on her offense and started driving the ball right at Olivet's two big post players and collected seven first half points. Nicholson, Emily Lindsay, and Querubin Dubois combined for 19 first half points and the Hornets went into the half with a 31-28 lead.

The second half saw some great offense from the Comets. They took the lead in the first few minutes and didn't give it back for a large portion of the half. Their lead never grew larger than six, but Kalamazoo was unable to get even with them until around the 6:10 mark when Grace Smith led the Hornets on a 6-0 run and put them up 51-49 with 4:49 remaining. Emily Lindsay hit a clutch three to give the Hornets a four-point lead with a little over four minutes to go in the game and they never gave the lead back.

Kelsey Adamski had another amazing night as she led the team in points, assists, and steals with 15, six, and four. Querubin Dubois was great off the bench with ten points and a team-high five rebounds. Perri Nicholson and Emily Lindsay had twelve points apiece and both had key defensive stops in the final two minutes of the game. Grace Smith finished with ten points; all coming in the second half.

Kalamazoo has now won two games in a row and will be looking for its third straight win Saturday, Jan. 31 at Adrian.
