KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team fell to Manchester University, 60-50, Tuesday evening inside Anderson Athletic Center.

The Spartans jumped out to an 18-8 lead after the first quarter and led 32-22 at the break.

Kalamazoo stepped up its defensive pressure in the second half, led by Danielle Simon who ended the game with seven steals. The Hornets held Manchester under 40 percent shooting in both the third and fourth quarters, but Kalamazoo's comeback effort fell short.

Simon was also efficient on the offensive side of the ball going 8-for-13 for a team-high 20 points. Emily Kozal added seven points to the Hornets' total.

Kalamazoo will look to bounce back on Thursday as the group travels to the Ohio Wesleyan Bishop Classic to take on Rochester.
