KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Despite a strong individual performance from first-year Libby Munoz, the Kalamazoo College women's basketball team fell to Calvin College, 81-50, Saturday afternoon inside Anderson Athletic Center.

Munoz ended her day with 16 points, just a point shy of her career-high, and shot 75 percent from the floor including 4-of-5 from downtown.

Calvin jumped out to a 25-6 lead by the end of the first quarter and maintained control of the game throughout the majority of the contest, but the Hornets continued to battle even in the fading minutes of the fourth quarter outscoring Calvin 18-15 in the final 10 minutes of play.

The Hornets defensive prowess resulted in seven steals overall and K limited the Knights to just 29.4 percent shooting in the fourth quarter.

Danielle Simon filled up the stat sheet in multiple facets scoring seven and recording five rebounds to go along with three assists and three steals.

Grace Smith recorded six points on 3-of-4 shooting in her first action of the season.

The Hornets continue MIAA play this Wednesday when they travel to Adrian College for a 6 p.m. tipoff with the Bulldogs.
