Women's Basketball defeated at St. Mary's

NOTRE DAME, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team lost 62-47 at Saint Mary's College on Saturday.

Kalamazoo fell behind early and trailed 35-21 at halftime. The Hornets cut the deficit to six points late in the third quarter but could not get any closer.

The host Belles shot 44.4 percent overall while limiting Kalamazoo to 26.4 percent. Saint Mary's outrebounded Kalamazoo 47-31.

Emily Kozal led Kalamazoo with 13 points and four rebounds while sinking 7-of-8 free throws.

Grace Smith finished with 11 points and six rebounds while Danielle Simon scored 10 points with five rebounds and two steals.

Kalamazoo returns home to face Hope College on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 6 p.m.
