Women's Basketball falls on the road to Bluffton

Bluffton, Ohio - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team fell by a score of 86-70 to Bluffton on Saturday afternoon despite a strong offensive performance from Emily Kozal

Kalamazoo was forced to play from behind as Bluffton came out hot, shooting 56 percent from the floor and 67 percent from three point range on their way to 10 point lead after the first quarter. The Hornets trailed by 14 coming out of the half, but cut into the deficit in the third quarter as Emily Kozal scored 10 of her team-high 23 points in the period.

The Hornets were unable to pull any closer as Bluffton was led by Kaycee Rowe's 25 points on an efficient 11-16 shooting from the field.

For the game Kalamazoo shot 42 percent from the floor and 88 percent from the free throw line.

In addition to her 23 points for K, Emily Kozal was a perfect 7-7 from the foul line and pulled down six rebounds. Danielle Simon also hit double figures with 13 points while dishing out seven assists. Sierra Fraser chipped in eight points and five rebounds in 15 minutes off the bench. 

Kalamazoo will travel to Manchester on Tuesday, Nov. 28 for a 7 p.m. tip-off.
