Women's Basketball falls at Albion

ALBION, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team lost 69-29 at Albion College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play on Saturday.

The Hornets trailed by three (10-7) after the first quarter and were still within three (12-9) three minutes into the second quarter, but Albion used a 17-4 run to close out the quarter and enter halftime up 29-13.

The host Britons scored the first eight points of the third quarter and continued on for the win.

Albion shot 40.8 percent overall while limiting Kalamazoo to just 21.6 percent shooting, including 0-for-13 from 3-point range. Albion held a 43-39 advantage in rebounds, including 12-9 on the offensive end.

Danielle Simon led Kalamazoo with nine points and nine rebounds. Emily Kozal added six points with five rebounds and three assists. 

Isabelle Clark scored four points with seven rebounds while Alayna Tomlinson scored four points with two rebounds. Mya Gough grabbed seven rebounds with her two points.

Kalamazoo heads to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. for its next two contests in the Cruzin Classic. The Hornets face Central (Iowa) on Monday, Feb. 18 and Washington (Md.) on Wednesday, Feb. 20.
