Women's Basketball takes down Alma

ALMA, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team picked up another MIAA road win with a 57-45 victory over Alma on Wednesday night.

The Hornets jumped out to a 12-0 lead to open the game and led 17-13 at the end of the first quarter. Alma fought back to lead by two going into halftime. The contest remained close through the third period, but K blew the game open in the fourth, outscoring the Scots 18-8 to secure the victory.

The Hornets shot 35.8 percent from the floor and 50 percent from behind the three point line while outrebounding Alma 47-35 despite giving up size at most positions.

Isabelle Clark followed up a career-high performance over the weekend with 17 points against Alma to lead Kalamazoo. Dani Simon had 14 rebounds to go along with eight points. Emily Kozal and Libby Munoz also scored in double figures for the Hornets with 12 and 10 points, respectively.

Kalamazoo will travel to Holland on Saturday to take on Hope at 3 p.m.
