KALAMAZOO, Mich. The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team was defeated 62-51 by Albion in the team's final home game of the season on Wednesday evening.

The Hornets opened up a 10 point lead early in the first quarter before Albion battled back to head into the second period trailing 15-13. Albion's press forced Kalamazoo into 12 turnovers in the second and propelled the Britons into the lead until an Emily Kozal three pointer to close the half gave the Hornets a 26-25 lead at the break.

The teams traded baskets in the third as neither was able to build a substantial lead and K led by two points entering the final 10 minutes. The Britons finally grabbed control with a 10-0 run to begin the fourth quarter. K fought back to tie the game with three minutes remaining, but another 10-0 Albion run behind strong play in the post forced the Hornets to try to extend the game by fouling in the final minute.

The Hornets shot 30.2 percent from the floor and 25 percent from behind the arc while Albion shot 31.3 percent from the field and 15.8 percent from three point range.

Isabelle Clark led K with 13 points. Danielle Simon had 11 points, five rebounds, and five assists while Mya Gough chipped in 10 rebounds.

Rain Hinton led all scorers with 27 points for Albion.

Kalamazoo will play its final game of the season at Trine on Saturday, Feb. 17th at 3 p.m.
