Women's Basketball Defeated at Goshen

GOSHEN, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team lost 80-48 at Goshen College on Tuesday.

The host Maple Leafs (5-1) led 14-9 after the first quarter before outscoring Kalamazoo 27-11 in the second to take a 41-20 lead into halftime. Goshen increased its lead in the third before Kalamazoo outscored the Maple Leafs 17-16 in the fourth quarter.

Goshen shot 43.1 percent from the field while Kalamazoo shot 31.6 percent. Goshen was 16-of-20 at the free throw line compared to 6-of-13 for Kalamazoo. Goshen outrebounded Kalamazoo 51-25, including 21-10 on the offensive end.

Kaytlyn Tidey led the Hornets in scoring with 18 points and four rebounds.

Amanda Moss scored 14 points on 6-of-13 shooting with four steals.

Sierra Fraser added seven points with five rebounds while Georgie Andrews scored six points with five rebounds and three assists off the bench.

Kalamazoo's next game is at home against Manchester on Saturday, Nov. 24 at 11 a.m.
