Tidey Scores 24 in Loss to Albion

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team lost 80-55 to Albion College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play on Saturday.

Kalamazoo trailed just 13-10 with 2:41 left in the first quarter before the Britons closed out the quarter with a 9-3 run to take a 22-13 lead. Albion led 40-22 at halftime.

Albion won the third quarter 23-15 while Kalamazoo won the fourth quarter 18-17.

Albion shot 41.3 percent to Kalamazoo's 38.3 percent, but the Britons were able to take 28 more shots in the game in large part to a 48-31 advantage in rebounds, including 21-5 on the offensive end.

Kaytlyn Tidey led Kalamazoo with a career-high 24 points on 6-of-13 shooting with 8-of-10 free throws.

Sierra Fraser added nine points while Georgie Andrews finished with eight poins and five rebounds. Juanita Ledesma scored six points with a pair of 3-pointers off the bench.

Kalamazoo is back in action Monday with an MIAA contest at Adrian College at 7:30 p.m.
