Tidey Breaks Record in Loss to Saint Mary's

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team fell 68-50 to Saint Mary's College on Saturday.

The visiting Belles led 15-10 after the first quarter. Kalamazoo outscored Saint Mary's 9-2 to start the second quarter and take a 19-17 lead. The two teams traded leads before Saint Mary's took a 31-26 lead into halftime. The Belles scored the first eight points of the third quarter and never gave up the lead.

Saint Mary's shot 43.6 percent overall while Kalamazoo shot 37.7 percent. The Belles held a 38-29 advantage in rebounds, including 11-7 on the offensive end.

Kaytlyn Tidey led Kalamazoo with 13 points while hitting four 3-pointers. Her third 3-pointer broke the school record for 3-pointers in a season (54), a record (53) previously shared by Suzanne Miller (2016-17) and Emily Lindsay (2011-12).

Georgie Andrews scored 11 points on 5-of-6 shooting with six rebounds and four steals. Amanda Moss added nine points with three assists while Sierra Fraser scored seven points with seven rebounds.

Kalamazoo is back in action Monday, Feb. 4 at Hope. That game was originally scheduled for Jan. 30, but was postponed due to weather.
