Women's Basketball Comes Up Short Against Alma

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team lost 80-49 to Alma College in a non-conference contest at home on Monday.

Kalamazoo scored the first four points of the game, and after several lead changes, led 16-15 with 9:14 left in the second quarter. A 3-pointer by Alma put the Scots on top 18-16 before taking a 41-32 lead into halftime.

Alma came out on a 19-2 run to start the third quarter and the Hornets were unable to get back within striking distance.

Alma shot 43.3 percent overall while hitting 8-of-21 3-pointers and 14-of-17 free throws. Kalamazoo shot 26.2 percent with 5-of-23 3's and 12-of-13 free throws. Alma held a 52-32 advantage in rebounds.

Isabelle Clark led Kalamazoo with 11 points and six rebounds.

Abby O'Keefe scored nine points with four rebounds.

Christiana Hunt added six points with four rebounds and five assists. Jayla Gill scored six points with eight rebounds. Kaytlyn Tidey also finished with six points.

Kalamazoo plays its home finale Wednesday night against Calvin at 7 p.m.
