Clark Scores 28 in Loss to Calvin

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team fell 79-45 to Calvin on Wednesday, Feb. 24.

The visiting Knights led 24-14 after a 14-0 run to open the contest. Kalamazoo responded with an 8-0 run that lasted the last two minutes of the first quarter and into the second, narrowing Calvin's lead to seven points. The Hornets came within ten points of their opponents twice in the second quarter before the Knights were able to pull away with a 45-25 lead at the end of the third frame. They maintained their lead in the final quarter, outscoring Kalamazoo 17-7. 

Calvin shot 39.1 percent overall while Kalamazoo shot 26.9 percent. The Knights held a 55-29 advantage in rebounds. The bright spot for the Hornets was 70 percent shooting (14-of-20) from the free-throw line. 

Isabelle Clark led the Hornets with 28 points, setting a new career-high. She also tied the all-time steals record with seven, good for another career-best. She shot 7-of-19 overall and 11-of-12 from the free-throw line. 

Jayla Gill scored seven points and set a new career-high in rebounds with ten. 

Kalamazoo celebrated Senior Night before tonight's game, honoring the team's three graduating players- Isabelle Clark, Juanita Ledesma, and Abby O'Keefe

The Hornets return to action for their final game on Saturday, Feb. 27 at Hope. Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m.
