The three seniors on the 2020-21 Kalamazoo College women's basketball team were honored prior to the game against Calvin on Wednesday, Feb. 24. Following is what was read during the ceremony:

Abby O'Keefe, from Rudolf Steiner High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is joined by her dad, Sean, and mom and step-dad, Calisa and Gary. Abby is a chemistry major with a minor in Spanish. After graduation, she plans to attend graduate school to get her master's in public health, with a focus on maternal and child health. She had a career-high nine points vs Alma and career-high eight rebounds vs Olivet. She is a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and of Alpha Lambda Delta. When asked what she will miss the most about the team, Abby said, "I will miss hanging out and having fun every day with my favorite people". When asked what advice she would like to leave her team, Abby said, "Take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way.

Juanita Ledesma, from Chicago Bulls College Prep in Chicago, Illinois, is joined by her mom and dad, Leticia and Salvador, and her brother Julian. Juanita is a psychology major with a minor in anthropology and sociology. After graduation, she plans to work for a non-profit while applying to graduate school. Juanita is a team captain who scored a career-high 12 points and pulled in nine rebounds against Olivet this year. She is also a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll, started the Student-Athletes of Color Organization on campus, and is a SAAC rep. When asked what she will miss most about her team, Juanita said, "I will miss the team aspect and camaraderie of the Hoopsquad. Sports are all about community and being a part of something bigger than ourselves. There's something special about getting to work with a group of people working towards a shared goal every day."  When asked about what words of advice she would like to leave for her team, Juanita said, "Do what you love and love what you do. Compete at every practice and at every game without losing that spark of your love for the game. And don't ever call Coach Miller old. As she always says, 'She's not like a regular mom, she's a cool mom'."

Isabelle Clark, from Dearborn High School in Dearborn, Michigan, is joined by her mom and dad, Suzanne and Todd. Izzy is a biology major and anthropology minor with a concentration in community and global health. After graduation, Izzy is planning to go to graduate school and move to a big city. Izzy is a two-time team captain who currently leads her team in scoring with 10.9 points per game and 1.5 steals a game. She had a career-high 24 points against Alma as a freshman and 14 rebounds against MacMurray as a junior. In her career, she started all 58 games she has played in, has recorded two triple-doubles, has led her team in 3-point percentage and scoring average. Izzy is a member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll and is a SAAC rep. When asked what she will miss most about the team, Izzy said, "I will miss our question of the day before practice, prank wars, and volunteering during winter break." When asked what advice she would like to leave her team, Izzy said, "Cherish every practice, team bonding, bus ride, and game. It goes by way too fast".

Thank you to these three seniors for everything you have done for your team and this basketball program. Your basketball family will miss you, but we know that you have amazing futures ahead of you!
