The seniors on the 2021 women's basketball team have selected their Most Valuable Professors to recognize this season.

The Hornets selected Dr. Blaine Moore, Dr. Francisco Villegas, and Dr. Eric Nordmoe.

Senior Isabelle Clark selected Dr. Blaine Moore from the Biology Department to recognize as her MVP. Dr. Moore was influential to Isabelle as both a professor and an academic advisor. She appreciates his organization, adaptability, and encouragement in the classroom setting. She enjoyed his unique way of showing that he genuinely cares about each of his students. She attributes his teaching and guidance to helping her be better prepared for life after college.

Dr. Francisco Villegas from the Anthropology/Sociology Department was selected by senior Juanita Ledesma. Juanita claims Dr. Villegas is the most influential educator she has ever had in her entire academic career. She finds his classes the most valuable ones she has taken at K. She is grateful for the powerful lessons learned in class and the challenge that Dr. Villegas poses to his students to question how they contribute positively to society. Juanita appreciates the uncomfortable conversations that have forced her to look at society in new ways.

Senior Abigail O'Keefe selected Dr. Eric Nordmoe from the Math Department to recognize as her MVP. Abigail is grateful to Dr. Nordmoe for all the knowledge and support he has offered throughout her academic career. She enjoyed his classes so much that she wanted to pursue her Senior Individualized Project with him as her advisor, and he helped guide her towards new research ideas that have sparked her interest in pursuing further degrees related to her interests. Abigail is appreciative of Dr. Nordmoe helping her to expand her knowledge in a discipline that she is very passionate about.

All Kalamazoo College senior athletes have the opportunity to recognize their Most Valuable Professors throughout the 2021 season.
