Women's Basketball Defeated at Eureka

EUREKA, Ill. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team lost 80-34 at Eureka College Sunday afternoon.

After falling behing 5-0 early, Kalamazoo was within one (9-8) with 3:55 left in the first quarter. The Red Devils closed out the quarter on a 13-1 run to lead 22-9 after the first ten minutes.

Eureka scored the first 11 points of the second quarter as well en route to a 41-15 lead at halftime.

Eureka shot 39.7 percent overall while sinking 17-of-23 free throws. Kalamazoo shot 24 percent while making 6-of-11 free throws. Kalamazoo held a 47-41 advatange in rebounds.

Macy Ivins led Kalamazoo in scoring with 11 points and six rebounds while making 3-of-4 three-pointers. She also had two assists.

Kaelyn Arlington scored four points while pulling down a career-high 16 rebounds. She alos had two assists.

Maddie Coffman, Sara English and Josee Cooke each scored five points. Coffman also had seven rebounds.

Kalamazoo opens MIAA play this Wednesday, Nov. 30 at Olivet College at 6 p.m.
