Women's Basketball Falls to Top-Ranked Hope

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's basketball team lost 98-42 to No. 1 Hope College at home on Saturday.

Hope scored the first 11 points of the game and led 26-12 after the first quarter. Hope led 50-26 at halftime.

The Flying Dutch shot 48.6 percent overall from the field while holding Kalamazoo to 23.4 percent. Hope made 13-of-26 three-pointers and 17-of-27 free throws. Kalamazoo made 2-of-9 three-pointers and 18-of-23 free throws. Hope outrebounded Kalamazoo 46-30, including 16-8 on the offensive end.

Jackie Brines led the Hornets in scoring with 11 points.

Jaelyn Horn scored seven points. Kylah Davis added six, while Kaelyn Arlington scored five points with four rebounds. Macy Ivins grabbed a team-high six rebounds to go with two points and two assists.

Kalamazoo is off until next Saturday, Dec. 17, when the Hornets host Dominican University at 1 p.m.
