Kalamazoo College's Katie Johnson was named MIAA Women's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.
A freshman from Okemos, Mich. (Okemos HS), Johnson made 44 saves while playing every minute of the Hornets' three games for the week. She made 11 saves and had a save percentage of 50 percent in a 16-11 win over defending MIAA champion Adrian. She also had 16 saves in a nonleague loss to Augustana, Ill.
She is being honored as Player of the Week for the third time this season.
Kalamazoo (3-4, 1-0 MIAA) hosts Trine on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
