HOLLAND, MI - The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team lost 13-8 on Saturday evening. The Hornets are now 4-5 overall, and 2-1 in MIAA play.

In the first period the scoring was minimal. Neither team was really able to get its offense going and Kalamazoo trailed 3-1 and halftime.

In the second half the Flying Dutch came out firing and pushed their 3-1 lead up to 10-1. However, the Hornets showed a ton of toughness battling back and cutting the deficit to as small as 11-8 before ultimately giving up the last two goals.

Anika Sproull led all Hornet scorers with three goals. Vethania Stavropoulos and Nicole Huff had two goals each and Alivia DuQuet also had a goal.

Hope outshot Kalamazoo 29 to 14. Kalamazoo goalie Katie Johnson had 16 saves.
