Emilia Ward, Kalamazoo College's head women's lacrosse coach since 2012, announced that she is stepping down to take over as head women's lacrosse coach at Pfeiffer University.

The Pfeiffer Falcons are an NCAA Division II program in Misenheimer, N.C.

Ward was hired to launch Kalamazoo's program in 2012-13. She guided the Hornets to a 5-10 finish (2-6, 7th MIAA) during the inaugural season of 2014 while improving to 6-8 (4-4, 5th MIAA) in 2015.

"I would like to thank Kalamazoo for the opportunity to start the program three years ago," Ward said. "It has been a great experience and I have enjoyed my time here greatly. I can't wait to see what the program continues to do in the future."

A search for a new head coach begins immediately.
