DANVILLE, Ken. – Looking to bounce back after a close 7-6 loss yesterday afternoon, the Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team came up short Friday evening as they traveled to Centre College. Centre defeated the Hornets, 17-5.

Kalamazoo got itself off to a hot start courtesy of Nicole Huff who scored back-to-back goals in the game's opening three minutes, but a stretch of seven straight goals from Centre put K in a hole as it ultimately found itself down 9-4 at the halftime break.

Centre tacked on three more goals in the first two minutes of the second half and built a lead too large for Kalamazoo to overcome.

Huff led the Hornets with three goals in the contest. Caroline Mudell and Hannah Meyers each added a goal for K.

Katie Johnson made nine saves in goal.

The Hornets finish up their spring break road trip on March 20 when they travel to Rhodes for a 5 p.m. faceoff.
