KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team played Albion College neck-and-neck Tuesday evening at MacKenzie Field, but a late second half surge was too much for the Hornets to overcome as the Britons defeated K, 16-10.

Playing a spirited first half, the two teams found themselves all level at 6-6 when the halftime buzzer sounded. Caroline Mundell picked up three of K's six goals in the half.

After trading goals early in the second and K finding itself down just one goal with 16:47 remaining in regulation, Albion scored seven unanswered goals, four on free position attempts, and the Hornets were never able to recover.

Vethania Stavropoulos added the final two goals of the game for Kalamazoo.

Mundell ended the day as the Hornets' leading scoring with four goals and one assist. Stavropoulos ended with three goals while Anna Dairaghi recorded two goals and one assist.

K will look to bounce back this Saturday when the Hornets travel to Olivet.
