Women's Lacrosse falls to Indiana Tech

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team fell to Indiana Tech 11-10 on Tuesday evening.

K jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first five minutes before conceding two goals in the span of one minute as Indiana Tech pulled to within 3-2 ten minutes into the game.

The Hornets then caught fire and scored four unanswered goals to go up 7-2 with ten minutes remaining in the half. The teams traded goals in the final minutes to go into half with K leading 8-3.

Kalamazoo continued to hold the lead in the second half and held a 10-6 advantage with ten minutes remaining in the game. From then on, however, it was all Indiana Tech as the hosts scored five unanswered goals, including the game winner with just over a minute remaining to take the game 11-10.

Indiana Tech outshot the Kalamazoo 34-17, but also committed 21 fouls to only 12 for K.

Amanda Moss, Caroline Mundell, and Rachel Madar each scored three goals for K. Lily Baumann contributed one goal, seven ground balls, four draw controls, and four caused turnovers for the Hornets.

Katie Johnson made 18 saves in goal for Kalamazoo.

K will return home on Sunday, Mar. 11 for a 12 p.m. against Notre Dame (OH).
