Women's Lacrosse beaten by Calvin

KALAMAZOO, Mich. The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team was beaten 13-6 by Calvin in a game that was delayed for over an hour due to field conditions on Saturday afternoon.

Playing in wet, windy conditions Calvin scored quickly to take an early lead. After Marianna Olsen scored to tie the game 1-1, Calvin scored seven unanswered goals to take an 8-1 lead with nine minutes remaining in the first half.

Calvin opened the second half with three more goals, but the Hornets put up a fight led by Rachel Madar's three second half goals. In the end, however, the deficit was too great and Calvin left MacKenzie Field with the victory.

For the game Kalamazoo held a 13-8 advantage in draw controls, but Calvin outshot Kalamazoo 34-13.

Rachel Madar hit 50 goals for the season with four goals in the contest to go along with six draw controls. Amanda Moss also had six draw controls while chipping in one goal and one assist.

The Hornets travel to Albion for their next contest on Tuesday, April 17th which is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
