Women's Lacrosse Edged by Aquinas

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team was narrowly defeated 19-18 at Aquinas College Friday evening.

Kalamazoo led the back-and-forth contest 4-3 after the first and 13-11 at halftime. Aquinas pulled ahead 17-16 after the third quarter. The Hornets regained the lead with the first two goals in the fourth, but Aquinas tied it up with 5:15 remaining and scored the game-winner with 2:55 left.

Kalamazoo outshot Aquinas 39-30 overall, and 32-23 on goal.

Rose Bogard led the Hornets with seven goals, one assist, eight ground balls and 17 draw controls.

Sydney Myszenski scored five goals. Natalie Maki had three.

Hannah Heeren led the team with 11 ground balls.

The Hornets are back home Sunday, March 6 for a 3:30 p.m. start against Earlham College.
