Women's Lacrosse Defeats Earlham

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Kalamazoo College women's lacrosse team defeated Earlham College 16-2 at MacKenzie Field Sunday afternoon.

Kalamazoo scored the first goal 49 seconds into the game, and led 4-0 at the end of the first quarter. The Hornets led 9-0 before Earlham got on the board with 6:23 left in the second. Kalamazoo took a 12-1 lead into halftime. The Hornets outscored the Quakers 4-1 in the second half.

Kalamazoo outshot Earlham 34-10 overall, including 25-7 on goal. The Hornets gained 18 of the 21 draw controls.

Hannah Heeren led the Hornets with seven goals, one assist, eight draw controls and four ground balls.

Rose Bogard scored four goals with eight ground balls, five caused turnovers and three draw controls.

Sydney Myszenski scored three goals. Mackenzie Maiorano scored a goal with two assists. Natalie Maki finished with seven draw controls and one assist.

Jordan Flink made five saves in goal.

Kalamazoo (3-1) returns to action Saturday, March 12 at Concordia Chicago.
