The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team defeated Trine 3-0 at home on Tuesday.
Maya Smolcic started the scoring early with a goal in the fourth minute (Jackie Short assist).
Kalamazoo took a 1-0 lead through halftime before Short made it 2-0 with a goal in the 58th minute (Jenna Sexton assist). Emily Gray added a goal in the 72nd minute (Rachel Dandar assist).
Kalamazoo outshot Trine 32-2 overall, including 13-1 on goal.
Lucy Mailing made the lone save in goal to earn the shutout.
Kalamazoo (5-3, 3-2 MIAA) hosts Alma next on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m.
