The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team defeated Olivet College 3-0 on Saturday afternoon. It was the Hornets second straight win over an MIAA team as they're now 2-1 in conference play and 5-1 overall.

The Hornets were on the attack for the majority of the game as they had possession of the ball much more than the Comets. Elizabeth Clevenger got Kalamazoo on the board early with a goal in the ninth minute off of a pass from Suzanne Miller. At halftime the Hornets had a 1-0 lead.

In the second half the Hornets came out of the gates quickly again with a goal in the 52nd minute by Madeleine Chilcote off an assist from Christina Dandar. Kalamazoo scored a very entertaining goal in the 75th minute when Karen Timm put one in off a free kick from 30 yards out that she'd intended as a cross. That was the final goal of the game and Kalamazoo achieved another shutout victory, its fourth of the year.

The Hornet's had possession for so much of the game, Kalamazoo keeper Lucy Mailing didn't record a single save because Olivet had no shots on goal.

The Hornets play on the road Tuesday, Sept. 16th against conference opponent Albion.
