ALMA, Mich. – While the 2016 season may still be young, the Kalamazoo College women's soccer team is on a roll.

The Hornets cruised to their fourth straight victory Saturday afternoon as the group produced three second half goals ultimately leading to a 4-2 win over Alma College on the road. Four different players found the back of the net for K, a trend that's become quite common for the group.

"I was ecstatic with the win today," Kalamazoo head coach Bryan Goyings said. "Alma is a strong team and very good on their home field. There were times when we played well and struggled to find our rhythm at other times."

Alma struck first in the 31st minute of play and it looked as if the Scots would hold a 1-0 advantage heading to halftime, but a goal from Libby Munoz in the 45th minute leveled the score and swayed the momentum towards the Hornets heading into the second half. Emma Tardiff was credited with an assist.

Less than 10 minutes into the second half, Paige Sambor gave the Hornets their first lead of the day after receiving a ball from Madeleine Chilcote.

Despite allowing Alma to level the score less than a minute later, Kalamazoo closed the game down the stretch.

Rosella LoChirco scored what proved to be the game-winning goal in the 63rd minute off an assist from Suzanne Miller. Madison Moote put the game out of reach in the 66th minute scoring the game's final goal. Munoz was credited with the assist.

"Libby showed tremendous composure equalizing before halftime," Goyings said. "Going into the break 1-1 set us up to really attack in the second half. Her assist on Moote's goal giving us that two goal lead highlights the positive impact she had on the game today."

Kalamazoo held the advantage in total shots (22-16) and Grace Smith recorded six saves in goal for the Hornets.

Now 5-2-1 overall and 4-0-1 in the MIAA, Kalamazoo heads back home this Tuesday for a home match with Adrian. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.

"The league has proven to be very tough and I'm sure Adrian will be prepared for us on Tuesday," Goyings said.
