AURORA, Ill. - The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team lost 2-1 to Otterbein University on Sunday.

Sarah George put Kalamazoo on the board in the ninth minute, and the Hornets maintained that edge while outshooting Otterbein 6-2 in the first half.

Otterbein evened the score in the 66th minute and scored the game-winner in the 87th minute. The Cardinals outshot Kalamazoo 11-3 in the sescond half and 13-9 for the game.

"Today's match was a battle," said Kalamazoo Head Coach Bryan Goyings. "I thought our team defending was consistent and really gave us a chance."

"At the end of the game Otterbein broke us down, but I thought we responded well creating two excellent scoring chances to equalize. There are a lot of positives to take away from the weekend and I look forward to returning to the field and opening MIaA play on Wednesday."

Kalamazoo is scheduled to face Calvin next on Wednesday, Sept. 6.
