Women's Soccer takes down Saint Mary's

Joy Hunziker playing soccer

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - The Kalamazoo College women's soccer team returned to its winning ways Saturday in convincing fashion with a 4-0 win over Saint Mary's.

The Hornets dominated the game in virtually every category, recording 40 shots to only three for Saint Mary's and taking nine corner kicks while giving up zero to add to the 4-0 scoreline. Multiple K players got on the scoresheet with Joy Hunziker scoring two of the Kalamazoo goals, Libby Munoz recording a goal and an assist, and Christina Dandar tacking on the fourth goal. The goals were the freshman Hunziker's first of her career.

Coach Bryan Goyings said, "I thought the team did a solid job connecting passes throughout the game. Joy had some great wing play and it was nice to see her rewarded with two tremendous goals."

Hannah Wolfe and Maddie Odom combined to earn the shutout in goal for the Hornets without making a save.

Kalamazoo will return home for its next game on Tuesday night for a 7 p.m. kickoff against Alma.
